Cocktails... for dessert!

Calvados, a French brandy originally fermented from the apple and pear orchards in the Bretagne region, is a favorite at Maison Marcellé.

Though we typically enjoy it in a dainty apéritif glass, it's also yummy in a dessert bowl.

Oui, dessert!

Impress your entourage with this five minute, easy-peasy, no-bake treat this weekend.

Brown some butter in a shallow pan and toss in unpeeled apple slices. Singing like Julia Child, coat with a sprinkle of sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and sizzle until tender. Spoon into a dessert bowl, drizzle with Calvados (of course, any brandy will do) and top with a dollop of crème fraiche or glace à la vanille.

Voila! Especially elegant, definitely decadent and impossibly French.
