Bourbon & Bubbles: A Kentucky Derby Celebration

On Derby Day, we at Maison Marcellé partnered with our sisters at Meraki Market to host Bourbon and Bubbles: A Kentucky Derby Celebration. Mesdemoiselles enjoyed mint julep cupcakes and a divine cocktail called a French 75, or in French simply a Soixante Quinze (Seventy Five). The drink dates to World War I, and an early form was created in 1915 at the New York Bar in Paris—later Harry's New York Bar—by barman Harry MacElhone.

Just in case you missed us, here’s the recipe:

- 2oz French gin (we used Citadelle)

- 2oz Pink Champagne

- Lemon infused simple syrup

- Garnish with fresh mint

Serve over ice in a julep or straight in a flute

...and, voila.

A bientôt, ma chères!
